Merry Chrismas just ended nearly,and a New year is almost comeing.How fast the time! I still remenbered the time of eleven monthes ago.When everyone was happy to celebrated New year,what should I did was sitting berfore my desk,and stadied stadied stadied...

Ha!Ha! It as if the thing that just happended yesterday.Now I am a college student finally,and live richly and colorfully. (^O^)y

The tragedy of tsunami on Soth Aisa

Massive coasters lash the shores without warning, catching tens of thousands of people off guard, and swallowing many of them up. It's the kind of scene people watched not that long ago in the Hollywood blockbuster. "The Day after Tomorrow." Who would have guessed we would be watching it really happen just months later? But in the movie the devastation was caused by global warming. The devastation in the news on the other hand was caused by an earthquake.

But look back into history and we discover that Keelung Harbor was struck by a tsunami in 1867, killing and injuring more than 100 people. Scientists say that as a result Taiwan needs its own tsunami early-warning systems.

The geology of Taiwan's neighboring ocean bottom means that the country is not prone to tsunamis, but with current technologies it is possible to predict within minutes of an earthquake whether anywhere is at risk.
